The End of Condom Porn

A few years hence, historians will look back to 2015 and declare that sometime during that year, gay condom pornography just sort of petered out.  By next September, you'll be hard pressed to find condoms in gay porn, and by the end of 2016, there will a few condom fetish sites (I mean, yeah, there ARE some sexy things you can do with condoms), but that will be it.  It all has to do with Neg+Prep; it's happening right now and bareback sex and by extension, porn, won't be the same.  Hey, it's still sex, and nobody's complaining, and maybe such discussion will become merely academic.  But..along with the condom fetish, there will be more dedicated poz bareback fetish sites, and there will still be chasers and gifters, and conversion parties will become more acknowledged and maybe typical, and the poz bareback cult will intensify, but I'll leave that discussion for another time.

LA County Passes Condom Law - yawn

Voters in Los Angeles County, which encompasses the city of Los Angeles, the surrounding suburbs, a few mountain ranges and a vast expanse of upper elevation desert scrub, passed a law that will require the porn industry to use condoms in all future productions.  I had reported that this unenforceable law would effect the City of Los Angeles only, suggesting the industry could merely cross the street and relocate to neighboring Burbank.  But no, I was wrong: it's the whole county; eventhough there's a quirk in the law that exempts a city or district with its own health department.  And there are a few, namely Pasadena, that staid, starchy, stockbroker suburb commonly referred to as Pasadowner and the port city of Long Beach (its raunchy Navy town days are now just a memory), and the industrial warehouse town of Vernon, known as one of the most corrupt cities on the Pacific Slope.  But do you know what?  Who gives a rat's ass?  Pornistas can take their business to escort and margarita-ridden Palm Springs, just 100 miles east in bareback-friendly Riverside County. The boys of the Hot Desert Knights family once ruled that town...Bill and John and Ray, not to mention Cole Tucker, Lance Hancock, Steve Hurley, and many others were all over the place.  You couldn't swing a purse without hitting a pornstar.  Now you might see Lance on the patio at Wang's-in-the-Desert during the infamous Friday happy hour, but that's about it.  LA porn producers should pack up the trailer, get on Interstate 10 and just head out east.

Porn Stars of Yesteryear and Today

You can't beat Treasure Island Media for production values...nobody else can touch them though Slut Machine comes damn close. Both studios kept up the high quality of their products and were meticulous in their casting, overlapping veterans with new faces, match-ups and pairings in the tradition of the long gone Hollywood studios.
'Breeding Season 2,' 'Sperm Assault' and 'Obey' are all keepers, buy 'em.
Some lesser entities advanced: BlackBreeders came out with 'Raw Magnum Fukkas' (I might be wrong on the actual title, I tried to google it but it didn't come up) with not-so-great camerawork or lighting, but the men and action were so hot, it didn't make much difference, this was a New York gang, I think. 'Rawstrokes' continued to get better with each production...with 'Raw Hole Damage,' Jayson Park was at his best and showed what's meant by 'dirty talk.' There are a lot of things not to like about 'Bareback Marathon NYC' and they don't have anything to do with the performers, mostly black thugs from xtube and so on, but we did get more of L'il Papi (in his third video) and he's ready to 'go national.' We'll be writing more of him in subsequent blogs, I'm sure. Jayson Park (I told you he's been busy) and Fred Mayer make 'Supercharged' from Rawfuck Studios one of the videos of the year...Mayer may be the slut of all, he could read from the Bible and make it sound slutty. And Sean Storm reached a new high getting gangbanged by a bunch of mature local tops in 'Cum Greedy Fuckholes.'
Sadly, I haven't been able to see Jayson Park's play for Dick Wadd...someone's going to have to buy it for me.
So here it is: the best bareback video of 2010 is a compilation video, and I know that's really not fair, so the consider the second best to be No. 1, and that is 'Double Fuck/A Cockwork Orange' from Knightbreeders. It's not as good as 'The Best of Damien Silver,' also from Knightbreeders, but they both feature the raunchiest, sleaziest bareback action around. Now try and find these fabulous videos...you have to go to the Knightbreeders website. Rockhard on Castro St. carries some of them, but not all, and they sell out quickly. I'm sure you can get them somewhere in LA, probably Circus of Books but I've yet to check.
It's been a great year for bareback porn, despite the passing of video pioneer Bill Gardner...where Hot Desert Knights, an industry leader for a decade, goes from here, I don't know.
